Oxygen-haemoglobin dissociation curve: Effect of shifts

Oxygen-haemoglobin dissociation curve: Effect of shifts

"L-L-L" & "R-R"
Left shift: causes Loading of O2 into Hb ( Eg. At the Lungs)
Right shift: causes Release of O2 from Hb.

Left shift of the oxygen dissociation curve denotes Hb's increased affinity for oxygen (as in lungs) and right shift is a sign of decreased affinity.
